Growing Pains

GBG is a company that has grown quickly over the past decade, both organically and through acquisition. GBG recognised the need to define, rollout and adopt a standardised approach built on DevOps best practice, and looked for expert advice to ratify, challenge and help champion it across the organisation.

We conducted a review of GBG’s initial plan and following recommendations on technology, tools, and processes; two projects were selected to demonstrate the new DevOps approach.

The projects were supported by a DevOps library of documentation, implementation guidelines, reusable templates, and code examples that Dootrix helped to introduce. This allows development teams across GBG to develop and deploy software in a consistent and understood way.

Implementing a single DevOps approach across the whole organisation has improved GBG’s ability to deliver software in a consistent, secure, and controlled manner. While still a work in progress, with the new approach continually expanding across teams and software stacks, from Azure to GCP and AWS, it has increased the efficiency of GBG’s development teams.
